With Christmas quickly approaching, I wanted to share a super easy diy Christmas ornament project! I received this ornament from a dear friend of mine many years ago and thought it was the most thoughtful gift ever! She ended up using my wedding invitation and added glittered wire ribbon for some sparkle. Since receiving this gift, I have made multiple ones that are very similar. It’s a fun and easy project you can give to someone using a special shower invite, baby announcement, wedding invitation, etc.
Supplies you will need
First cut invitation into quarter inch strips. Try to keep key words/phrases on each strip. It’s important to cut strips with main details so it can still be read when rolled.
Next, roll invitation and wired ribbon strips around pen or pencil. Some invitations may be thicker but it should still work. The wired ribbon is also optional but helps add some color to the ornament.
Open the ornament and insert the curled strips into ornament. The times, dates, and locations can be seen at a glimpse throughout the ornament.
Depending on the theme you can always add a charm and some fun ribbon to hang it from. I’ve even see ones that have the monogrammed sticker on it as well (cute idea for a new bride with new initials).
I promise anyone with a special date will love this thoughtful gift and it will be a memory keepsake forever. Bonus- it’s the easiest diy project and requires little money and time!
