It’s my favorite time of year again! The weather is getting cooler and everywhere I look there’s pumpkins! If your family is like mine then at some point your kiddos will want to carve a pumpkin. I’ve always loved making holiday memories but in all reality, if you have littles you’ll most likely be doing all of the work. And trust me, carving a pumpkin is not a quick and easy task! Over the years I’ve learned to keep things simple with the kiddos and they still love the outcome! So today I am sharing what we’ve done the last few years that won’t have you slaving away on a pumpkin masterpiece.
- Cut the top off
- Remove the insides (make sure you throw them away and not down the sink) I love this pumpkin carving kit.
- Wipe pumpkin clean
- Draw you design with a marker
- Use a drill and drill little holes where your design is (we usually stick to an initial of monogram).
- Place candle inside and you’re done!
So now it is officially fall! The weather is chilly, you’ve carved your pumpkins, lit your falls candles, and decorated your house with festive Halloween décor. This time of year can be spooky for kids, but also for adults. One of the scariest things you want to avoid this time of year are the expensive home repairs that can come up in the fall & winter. Here are a few things to remember to avoid those SCARY home repairs….
•As mentioned above, don’t put your pumpkin guts down the sink.
•Turn out door spigot off so water won’t freeze.
•Be sure to have your furnace checked/cleaned before that first chilly day where you’ll want it on and working.
•Be sure to change your furnace filter 3-12x a year. If not, it can lead to a costly repair.
•If you have a finished basement or are looking to finish your basement, Hoffmann Brothers is offering a few specials: sewer line inspection and sump pump maintenance. https://www.hoffmannbros.com/monthly-specials
As always Hoffman Brothers are ready to help transition your home and make sure it’s ready for the fall and winter months. My furnace is ready to go when that first frost hits!
