Have you always wondered how the hotels you stay at have such amazing bedding and wish you could have the same at home.  Well a few weeks ago we upgraded to a king and I am never looking back.  I knew we needed a king with our growing family and kept putting it off because of the price.  I started asking around and doing my research!  I am here to tell you you can upgrade too without breaking the bank!  Everything I purchased to create my own oasis at home was under $2,000.  Yep you heard that right.

I first started looking at bed options.  I knew I wanted a tufted headboard and possibly one with a panel frame for a clean finished look.  I found this one on Wayfair and couldn’t be more pleased.  It was under $500 for the entire bed and I promise you it’s very well made.  It also wasn’t hard to assemble (well maybe ask the hubby).

This exact bed comes in 7 colors- I bought beige.  The wingback style and detailed nailhead trim gives it a romantic finish.

Once I found the bed it was time to do my research on a mattress.  We wanted something firm but still soft.  I was overwhelmed at the amount of companies that offered “bed in a box” theory.  We ended up choosing Nectar for our mattress!  They are currently running a special $125 off + two free pillows.  We did this, and their pillows are amazing.  I love that this company offers a 365 day trial- which means you can test it for an entire year and send back if you’re not satisfied.  We also ordered this foundation.  I know some beds don’t require a box spring but this one did.  I was the coolest thing when I received my entire king bed via mail 🙂

My previous bedding was white and I never got sick of it.  I knew I wanted to keep it light again so I ended up going with this quilt from Target.  I got most of my bedding from Target durning a home sale where I received an additional 30% off.

This wood sign from Smallwoods is my favorite- currently on MAJOR sale!

We use this bench everyday to put our shoes on and the boys love jumping off of it.  It has a good amount of storage too where I store my sweaters and seasonal items.  The bench is from World Market a few years ago.  Similar one here.

My dresser and nightstands are from Ashley Furniture Store. My rug is from overstock. Click here to view it.

Here’s the breakdown on how I saved:

Sheets– $60

Pillows– the king size are on SALE right now for $10

I now feel like I am staying at a fancy hotel when I go to sleep everynight and so happy I didn’t have to break the bank to do it!
