Today I’m sharing my must-haves for postpartum recovery (in addition to sleep)! This was my third c-section so I feel like I’ve learned what’s necessary and what’s not! I’ll try to keep short and sweet!
If you’re a new mom, or pregnant for the first time, know that the postpartum days can have their share of ups and downs. It’s a huge adjustment and there is a steep learning curve to looking after a baby and feeding them!
Haakaa– #1 BEST PRODUCT OUT THERE! I’ve always struggle with engorgement when my milk supply first comes in and this helped tremendously. It’s available on amazon for $12.99. Also I’ve already started a “freezer stash” bc it catches the let down on the opposite side I am not nursing on.
Water Bottle– I am always so thirsty when I nurse so I keep this by my bed at all times
Snacks- When I nurse I’m hungry 24/7. Like starving and always want snacks. These protein bars are my fav and keep me feeling full.
Nursing Bra– I’ve used these with all three of my kiddos and they’re still my fav! Fits all bra sizes, removable pads and straps!
Blanket and Heating Pad– Anyone else get the shakes and chills after delivery! I’m freezing one minute then ripping my clothes off the next (literally) haha. Having a blanket handy helps and a heating pad bc my shoulders and upper back are sore from nursing (insert old lady status here).
Comfy Pajamas– Hands down these are my fav and so comfy! They’re perfect for nursing and wash well. Soma Intimates are also a fan favorite and worth every penny! SO soft and cozy. Pair with a good pair of slippers or some cozy socks, and you’re set.
Congrats mama on the biggest accomplishment you’ll every have! You just gave birth to a beautiful baby that YOU created! Enjoy all the snuggles and fresh newborn smell (wish they could smell like this forever). I hope that this list helps you in your first days at home as a new mama!
