Every blonde knows that you need a few extra hair care products to keep you hair looking fresh and keeping the prefect blonde. I have pulled out everything in my bathroom to share my favorite products.
I do not think there is one product you should live and die by I like to swap between a few in each category. Also, I think you should always buy from a legit re-seller so you know what you are getting and the condition it is in. Some items you can snag via Amazon IF the seller is the manufacturer (then Amazon is just warehousing and shipping)
Shampoo and Conditioner with a boost to help the brass
Kevin Murphy Angel Wash and Rise – recommended by the blonde queen that gives us highlights Heidi from Govero Salons in STL, this will help keep the dreaded brassy look away!
Pureology Perfect 4 Platinum Shampoo + Pureology Perfect 4 Platinum-This is seriously magical, with just a hint of purple to keep your blondes fresh!
Color Treated Shampoo and Conditioner
If you use a standard shampoo and conditioner then I would suggest to get a purple shampoo to use weekly
Biolage Colorlast Shampoo + Biolage Colorlast Conditioner
Redken Color Extend Shampoo + Redken Color Extend Conditioner
Purple Shampoo – this will hep to remove the brass
Joico – Color Balance : Use this once a week and leave in for a couple min.
Conditioning Treatments
Olaplex No. 3 – this is the take home portion of a 3 step series, so you get the first parts done in the salon. Blondes must have this to use as a weekly treatment!
Amika Soulfood – This is another weekly treatment that I can not live without!
Repair Damage
These two are the holy grail if you have major damage and need to repair.
The Olaplex that is above too!
Dry Shampoo
I really don’t hate any dry shampoo but these are my tops picks…you can see a few more here.
Leave-In Treatment
Colour Fanatic Multi-tasking Hair Beautifier – well with a name like this is should be magically, I usually call it Pureology 21 since that is on the bottle! I noticed a huge change when I started using this after the shower.
Moroccan Oil Light – Everyone has raved about this for years and it is still a staple in hair love…a few drops of this on the ends and your hair is so nourished and smooth!
Hairspray
Davines – This is a Medium – Carley’s fav!
Heat Protectant
If you have to use heat you need to add some protection- this coming from the girl that legit used an iron on her hair with friend when we we 13.
Kenra – this also has hold!
Living Proof – Does the job and is lightweight!
Alterna – Again amazing for damaged and processed hair!
A few other tips and tricks!
Preventing green pool hair- wet your hair first with water then spray on leave in conditioner. Always rinse your hair out after getting out of the pool too!
Wet brush I thought this was just for little girls with tons of knots – no way you need this!
Silk Pillow Case – Feel like a queen, but really my hair didn’t seem as fuzzy in the am after I got one!
Invisibobble – I thought these wouldn’t hold my hair up or would stretch out, NOPE, they are the best! They do not leave a crease in your hair and aren’t damaging it!
Turn down the heat on your straightener and curling iron, I can get the same results without blasting the heat!
You are getting close to amazing blonde hair just a few more tips. There are a few things that have helped since I started taking them. I’m not a supplement junkie BUT this Vital Protiens collagen has done wonders for my hair & nails. You just toss two scoops in your coffee and you can’t even taste it. Plus there is a ton of protein.
Now go – make some online orders and in a few days you have an at home spa ( do not try your own highlights)
XO- Lindsay
