You might be thinking what is capsule wardrobe-ish, I have to get my bags packed just gimme the details. My goal is to give a guide that you can pull from your current wardrobe, add in a few “on trend” pieces and not over pack!
I am not a fan of checking luggage and will try very had to pack everything into one carry on bag. If you are planning a longer trip or are a major shoe lover you might need to check that big bag!
A few quick things to think about before you start packing…
- What will the weather be like ?
- Will you be doing any special activities – hiking?
- Do you plan on shopping on your trip?
- Will you have access to laundry?
Bottom line is we need to pack smart for long trips and it will cut back on stress! Keep it simple and come up with multiple ways to wear items, then bring some singular items that can give you and entire outfit – dresses | rompers | jumpsuit.
what to pack
This is for 2 weeks on a warm trip!
Toiletries : If I am on the beach for 2 weeks my makeup will be VERY minimal. My sunscreen will be very heavy. Do you need your straightener and curling iron – nope. Use the hotel hair dryer – you will survive! Hotels usually have so many thing you can grab and use for vacay if you aren’t really picky.
deodorant |conditioner | dry shampoo | toothbrush |sunscreen | face wash | day lotion | soap

This is the toiletry bag I have had for over year!
Swimwear- My suggestion would be to pack only your favorite swimsuits that you feel your best in. After a few too many days of daiquiris I never reach for that skimpy swimsuit ha! You can easily use your one piece as a top too!
3 swimsuits
Cover-up / Kimonos : These give you a great way to cross between day and night. You can wear the kimono to the pool then toss it over a fitted dress for night! You can get away with packing more of these since they are so small and easy to pack! Toss on the same suit daily and change up your kimono = new outfit!
4 kimonos
Shoes : They are usually heavy and take up space, just make sure you will use shoes you are packing! Are you doing any activities that require sneakers? If not pack two pair of sandals and one pair of wedges. I pretty much only wear my Dr. Scholls on the day of traveling so they are always with me!
3 pairs of shoes
Hat : Block the sun LADIES! You have two options here you can grab my favorite pack-able hat or grab a hat hook for your carry on. This might be a good opportunity to shop for a hat while on vacation depending on your destination. For me hats are easy to buy, but swimwear isn’t!
1 Pack-able hat
Shorts : I’m all for comfort here! Usually pack two that can mix with a lot and then two with fun prints! Depending on the temp add a pair of white jeans!
4 pairs of of shorts + 1 pair of white jeans
Tops : There is a lot that can go into this but lets pack pieces that can mix and match with a few different pieces. Solid tanks that and a basic white tee are the first items in my bag. After that I might add a few FUN shirts. Always pack a chambray button down- so easy to pair with shorts, jeans, over a dress, use as a cover up!
5 tops + chambray shirt
Dresses : Luckily dresses can count as an entire outfit. I prefer to do more casual and dress them up with fun jewelry or add a kimono. You can totally re-wear a dress on vacay too! Wear a maxi tied at the bottom with sandals or add a fun jewels for a nighttime look. The Leith dress is really a go to in so many ways! You can dress it up on vacay with wedges and a kimono or pair it with sneakers for the daytime.
4 dresses + 2 rompers / jumpsuits
Accessories : Sunnies – I am good with 2 pairs, because I know I can always find another pair to buy. Earrings – overload for some reason I love that they can make any outfit pop. Jewels – basic necklace + 2 stacks of neutral bracelets.
Bags : I am very minimal here – most of the time at the resort / hotel I won’t carry a bag. I do love having a big tote for all the things on the plane. Then one small clutch for anything else fun on vacay!
Don’t forget to use packing cubes and roll your clothes!

Yayyy love it! Sooo many great ideas and I had never heard of packing cubes, genius! Thank you so much for the packing capsule ❤️
